About Jody
Jody has been the LaSalle County Coroner since she was elected to the office in 1996. Prior to 1996, Jody was the Chief Deputy Coroner from 1991 to 1996 and Deputy Coroner from 1984 to 1991. As our Coroner, Jody has implemented counseling referral, computerized the Coroner's office, and streamlined record keeping.
Jody is a member of the Illinois Coroner & Medical Examiners Association. In 2005, she served as President of the organization. Jody was instrumental in the adoption of the Illinois Coroner & Medical Examiners Association Forensic Autopsy Guidelines in 2005. In 2007, Jody Co-Chaired the committee that wrote the Illinois Coroner & Medical Examiners Association Manner of Death Guidelines.
Jody has been certified by the Illinois Local Governmental Law Enforcement Officers Training Board after completing the Board's 40 hour coroner's training. Under Jody's leadership, the office is National Incident Management System compliant. Jody is an
Organ & Tissue donor certified requester. Jody has received additional training in
Medicolegal Death Investigations, Practical Homicide Investigation, Homicide & Crime Scene Management, Drug Related Death Investigations, Crime Lab Techniques & Procedures, Crime Scene Protection, Forensic Anthropology, and Domestic Violence Related Homicide.
