About Rodney
Rodney has worked in Law Enforcement for over 30 years. Rodney has lived in LaSalle County since 2003. Prior to that he lived and grew up in DuPage County. Mr. Hampton attended Criminal Justice courses at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn. He graduated from the Police Training Institute, University of Illinois, Champaign, Illinois in 1979. Mr. Hampton has attended numerous training courses in his career, such as but not limited to, Supervision, Search and Seizure and Fire Arson Investigation. Mr. Hampton became a member of the College Of DuPage Police Department in April 1979. He was appointed to the Rank of Sergeant in 1988. Mr. Hampton retired in 2006. Mr. Hampton worked part-time for the Lombard Park District Police Department from December 1979 till the department was disbanded in December 1996. Mr. Hampton left the department achieving the rank of Lieutenant. In June 2004, Mr. Hampton started working part-time for the Somonauk Police Department. In March 2007, Mr. Hampton was appointed as a full time Police Officer to the Somonauk Police Department.
Mr. Hampton served for many years as an adult leader in the Boy Scouts of America, Three Fires Council. Mr. Hampton was awarded the Medal of Honor by the Boy Scouts of America. This is one of the highest awards an adult leader can be awarded for saving a life. Mr. Hampton was also awarded the Good Neighbor award by the Village of Lombard. Mr. Hampton has also served on the Administrative Board and as a Trustee for the Faith United Methodist Church, Lombard, Illinois. |
